Email Marketing Information

By Sean On May 24, 2009 No Comments

So I have been thinking about all the junk email I have been getting in my email box lately and it has lead me to write a little bit about email marketing.  Being a marketer i know what all of the big niches are now so I find it pretty funny when I wake up and go through my email and find 14 emails on how I can lose weight with Acai Berries.

I have done a little bit of email marketing but its not my favorite thing to do.  Email marketing can be a very profitable method if done the right way.  Here are the three big things to think about before you start.

Relationships :  Build a strong relationship with your audience.  as a consumer I am going to be much more willing to buy a product from a friend of mine who recommends something than from a complete stranger.   For one of my sites I send out a weekly newsletter to my readers and I have done this for some time now so they associate myself as someone they can trust.

Over Reader Value:  When you try and push a product to your readers, make sure it is something relevant.   If my site is based on making money online it’s probably not the best idea to offer a new state of the art vacuum cleaner.

Pick a Quality Email Capture Program:  One of my favorite programs is Aweber.  Aweber is one of the biggest email capture programs on the market.  You can set up the auto responder to return any request and then you can set up to email the reader automatically on a monthly basis.

Building A Keyword List For A New Campaign

By Sean On May 18, 2009 No Comments

So you are getting ready to start a new campaign and your building your PPC keyword list.  What is your first step?  How do you go about building the perfect keyword list to maximize your profits?  Well I hear a lot of people talking about how they have 10,000 keywords and some even talk about having even more.  Well let me be the first to tell you this is not how I go about it.  Have you ever tried going through 10,000 keywords to cancel out the non converting one?  Not too much fun my friend.

There are programs out there such as wordtracker or Wordze, but I’m really not  a big fan.  There are just as effective ways to build a great keyword list without spending a bunch of money if you are a newbie.  I get quite a few keywords from just using the keyword tool on Google Adwords.  The other way I like to do things especially when I am familiar with the topic is to use good old word pad and just write them out on my own.  You can cover not only broad keywords but you can also start doing the long tail ones.

If you are not familiar with the meaning between short tail and long tail keywords here is a quick description.  Short tail keywords are very broad based.  If you are marketing diet pills a short tail keyword would be, “Diet Pills.”  On the other hand a long tail keyword could be, “Cheap Acai Berry Diet Pills.”  Generally your long tail keywords are cheaper but also get you less traffic.  They do have a higher conversion rate because they are more focused and there is a higher chance your visitor is ready to buy.

So the next time you are starting a new campaign try coming up with your keyword list on your own.  The chances are if you have a list that is 10,000 keywords long about 70% of them will never get a click.

Are You Using Twitter To Make Money Online?

By Sean On May 9, 2009 No Comments

So I guess the major question of this post is going to be “Are you using Twitter to make money?”  I have never been the biggest social network marketer.  To be honest with you I have never been good at it.  Lately I have realized how much traffic you can really get from it.  Viral Marketing is a great way to be able to get a whole bunch of visitors very quick.

For those of you who do not understand what viral marketing is think of it like the flu.  Germs are spread around being passed from one person to another and it can spread very quick in high traffic areas.  Well its the same on the Internet.  If you get your link out there and have others pick it up they will start spreading the word fast.

I recently decided to run a Twitter campaign for one of my websites.  One of my blogs is EventTicketNews.com and it is a blog that I link to the Event Ticket e-commerce site I run, UltimateTicketHub.com.  What I did was I decided that I was going to offer a free $10 gift card to UltimateTicketHub.com for every twitter follower I received for EventTicketNews.  I submitted this giveaway to a couple of freebie and mom blog sites and the hits just came pouring in.  Not only were people following me for the chance to win a free gift card but they were also checking out both of my websites.  That’s a whole lot of free traffic that I just received.

So use these abilities to gain a little bit more traffic that you don;t need to pay for.  You never know it could pay out big for you.  Watch out tomorrow I am going to go more into Twitter marketing and how not everyone is taking advantage of the potential.

Make A lot Of Money With Google Adsense If Done Right

By Sean On May 6, 2009 No Comments

So when a lot of people start a website they tend to just throw adsense up and expect it to make them a little extra revenue.  We most of the time it does, but more can be made.

Have you ever thought about what you could make if you knew exactly where on the page a visitor was clicking?  Well you canwith Crazyegg.com.  All you do is place a little bit of code on your site and it will track where your visitors are clicking.  Best thing is the product starts at only $9.99 a month.

Now lets say for example you spot a place on your site that is very warm with traffic but you don;t have adsense running even remotely close to it.  Just image the extra profit you could be gaining.  I’d say much more than the $9.99 you spent.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.
